My friend Eliza Auth has a lovely exhibit on right now at the Rosenfeld Gallery in Old City Philadelphia. By happy planning and a little luck an article I wrote about her work is now out in the current issue (November/December) of Fine Art Connoisseur magazine. I urge you to go see the show (and buy the magazine..tee hee!) Reprinted below with permission (click to enlarge:)

Outdoor Painter article!
My friend Alex Tyng and I have reciprocal portraits in the Painters Painting section of Outdoor Painter! Outdoor Painter is the online version of Plein Air magazine. Both the paintings in the article (written by Steve Doherty) were done on the same trip, one year ago when Alex and I went on a "business trip" to Maine. Click each image to enlarge and read.
What a fun and fruitful trip that was! For a time at least, you can read the piece online by clicking here.

I've been getting more and more photo work and exposure. My photograph of neighbor Hiroshi Iizuka's viola workshop is in the current issue of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music newsletter Upbeat:
My photograph of friend Alexandra Tyng appears in the current issue of Artists and Poets magazine, in a one page feature about Alex's work:

A new magazine article
I was very consumed with this writing project a short while ago. I'd gotten the idea to poll artists on what their favorite art books were, and what an enormous outpouring of ideas I received! I ended up limiting the field to thirty people, and even then, it was a huge effort to be brief despite the fact that my editor gave me four pages! This turned out to be a topic that really got people thinking. The piece is just out, in the most current issue of Fine Art Connoisseur magazine, April 2011. Thanks to all the artists who participated! If you're interested in reading the piece, here it is (click on images to enlarge:)
