Faculty Show Poster Girl

I'm delighted to share that my piece "Painting Girl" was chosen as the Poster Image for the current MC3 Faculty show.

It's fun, and a little startling, to see my image on posters, and flyers tacked up around campus. Gives that feeling of, "Wherever you go, there you are." LOL! It's a terrific show, the faculty at MC3 are really great, and it's interesting to see the alumni invitees excellent work mixed in as well!

Women & Self-Portraiture article

I recently discovered that I'm included in an interesting article on women and self-portraiture that came out last month: http://portraitsocietyceciliabeauxforum.blogspot.com/2014/11/our-portraits-our-selvesthe-classic.html?spref=fb  I'd been interviewed (by email) and then forgot about it, so a nice surprise.

In my portion of the interview I discuss my head covering project, actually for the first time in print. And I was also surprised and pleased to see that the writer gave a big shout out to Women in the Act of Painting, which I appreciate!

500!

"Lessons from Life" Vyacheslav Shchelokov

I just uploaded the 500th image to my online Women in the Act of Painting project. I am amazed at how fast this point has been reached. The project is in three Facebook albums for the moment, but a blog and a book are in the works. The response to the project has been overwhelming, and I am grateful for all the comments, encouragement and contributions of images. I have learned so much, and plenty more "life lessons" to come! Thank you everybody, I really couldn't have done it without you!
